Curriculum Designer (Remote / Flexible Hours)

We’re seeking a visionary Curriculum Designer to join the Self-Degree team. In this role, you’ll design AI-enhanced, learner-centered curricula that blend academic rigor with flexibility, creativity, and gamified motivation.

You’ll work closely with our educators, AI developers, and designers to create dynamic learning roadmaps across multiple subjects — transforming how people experience education.

Responsibilities

• Design modular, adaptable curricula for K–12, homeschooling, and adult learners.

• Collaborate with AI and content teams to create personalized learning roadmaps and missions.

• Translate learning objectives into interactive lessons, quests, and activities.

• Integrate proven learning techniques (active recall, spaced repetition, metacognition, etc.) into curriculum structures.

• Curate multimedia learning materials — books, videos, apps, podcasts, and real-world projects.

• Align learning outcomes with college readiness, career pathways, and Self-Degree certifications.

• Contribute to the development of assessments, progress tracking, and achievement systems.

• Ensure curricula are inclusive, engaging, and adaptable for diverse learners.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience designing or managing curricula (homeschooling, K–12, or online learning preferred).

• Deep understanding of learning theory, pedagogy, and competency-based education.

• Ability to structure curricula for personalized, self-paced learning environments.

• Strong written and organizational skills, with attention to clarity and engagement.

• Familiarity with AI tools, learning management systems (LMS), or edtech platforms.

• Bonus: Experience with gamified learning design, project-based education, or alternative education models (Montessori, unschooling, etc.).
